European Union regulations on organic farming are designed to provide a clear structure for the production of organic goods across the whole of the EU. This is to satisfy consumer demand for trustworthy organic products whilst providing a fair marketplace for producers, distributors and marketers.
Organic farming is an agricultural method that aims to produce food using natural substances and processes. This means that organic farming tends to have a limited environmental impact as it encourages:

We are also committed to creating equality within our farming system and take pride in empowering female farmers. We offer access to free credit and provide training that equips them with financial literacy, allowing them to gain independence from their male counterparts to create a more inclusive farming environment.
Certifications
Farnico is GOTS (License no. CU113701) and EU Organic (Reg. no. CU881969) certified by Control Union since 2021. We supply GOTS organic, as well as in-conversion, cotton to customers around the globe. All of our cotton is responsibly sourced through our work directly with farmer communities, as well as from our own lands. We aim to build long-term relationships with professional buyers. Crop Rotation for Soil Health
Regular crop rotation allows the land to recover and regenerate after each harvest, maximizing the use of the land by preventing soil depletion and contributing to the long-term health of the soil.
Rain-Fed Fields
The majority of our fields are largely rain-fed, harnessing the power of nature’s water supply and conserving water.
Biodegradable Cotton
Cotton, our primary crop, is a natural fiber that safely biodegrades, reducing its environmental impact.
Natural Pest Control and Organic Fertilizers
In Tajikistan, pollution is responsible for a shocking 19.6% of deaths, with agriculture being the dominant source. At Farnico, we rely on the use of beneficial insects to control pests, eliminating the reliance on synthetic pesticides, and use fully organic fertilizers to safely promote healthy soil.
Biodiversity
Encouraging biodiversity in farming enhances ecosystems, improves crop resilience, and further reduces the need for synthetic chemicals. Some of the practices we employ include planting trees around fields to reduce soil erosion and creating buffer zones near water sources to protect against nutrient pollution.
